{"id":495,"date":"2010-04-06T10:21:08","date_gmt":"2010-04-06T15:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tastytangents.com\/?p=495"},"modified":"2010-04-06T10:21:08","modified_gmt":"2010-04-06T15:21:08","slug":"breaking-bread-in-laquila","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tastytangents.com\/?p=495","title":{"rendered":"Breaking Bread in L&#8217;Aquila"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today marks the one year anniversary of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctv.ca\/servlet\/ArticleNews\/story\/CTVNews\/20100406\/laquila_quake_100406\/20100406?hub=World\">earthquake<\/a> that killed 308 people in the medieval city of L&#8217;Aquila, northwest of Rome, Italy.<\/p>\n<p>So now you&#8217;re saying, that&#8217;s very sad, but what&#8217;s that got to do with food?<\/p>\n<p>To start, the quake was so close to my hometown in Italy that all my relatives there felt it. And since the flavours in the region are the basis for most of my cooking, it hits close to home.<\/p>\n<p>Second, and much more interesting, my cousin Maria Filice has put together her very first cookbook, and based the recipes on a restaurant there.
